Apparently, America’s favorite red-headed fast food magnate doesn’t watch our medicated cooking series, because Wendy really botched a batch of infused fries last week in Dayton, Ohio.
An understandably-outraged mother named Dezeray Risner posted photos to her Facebook page of what appears to be the remnants of a weed-filled blunt cooked into her child’s order of french fries. Risner’s four-year-old daughter complained to her mom that her fries “tasted funny and were yucky.”
Rizner asked her daughter to spit out the fries so she could have a look at the evidence. That’s when she witnessed what appeared to be a blunt roach that inexplicably found its way into the deep fryer. The photos on Risner’s Facebook page show some mangled fries with cannabis and blunt shrapnel strewn throughout.
The concerned mom posted on Facebook along with the incriminating photos:
I need y’alls help to get the word out!! Today around 5p after I picked the girls up from Daycare I stopped at the Wendy’s on Brandt Pike in Huber Heights and got the girls some food. Fast forward like 15 minutes, I’m driving on 70 headed to Adriennes’ cheerleading class and she starts yelling that her food is nasty. So I reach my arm back and tell her to spit it in my hand. She did and I look at it, there is MARIJUANA in her French fries!! Not only marijuana, but a cigarillo wrap too!! My FOUR YEAR OLD CHILD WAS CHEWING ON SOMEONES BLUNT! You can see and smell plain as day that this is in fact weed in my babies food! I’m livid, so I call Wendy’s and ask to speak to the Manager. “Megan” answers and says she’s the manager. After telling her what I found, she laughed and told me to “bring it in and we can determine if it needs to be taken to the general manager”. Are you kidding me?! I’ve filed a report with the police department. I’m going to the top with this!!
Risner explained to her local Fox News affiliate, “So I told her to spit it in my hand, (and) I just kind of reached my arm back. She did and when I looked at it, you could see it. It was chewed up with the French fries. There was the weed in there, the wrap that it goes in or whatever. I freaked out.”
It’s hard to argue with the compromising photos, but the Wendy’s team under fire sure did try. When Risner phoned the location where the fries were purchased, a Wendy’s manager told Dezeray that no one at their store was in possession of marijuana. This was not a satisfying response for Risner, who was well aware of the lack of weed inside the Wendy’s after their stash ended up in the small fry’s small fries.
Luckily for Risner, the weed in the blunt wasn’t already decarbed, or she would’ve probably been in the hospital with her toddler 60-90 minutes later.
Ever-determined, Dezeray took her complaint up a notch by contacting the local authorities, who likely had to draw straws to see which lucky officer would get to go take the Wendy’s call.
When a police officer arrived to inspect the allegedly tainted fries, there was an aroma of marijuana apparent immediately. When the officer further grilled (never frozen) the staff of the Wendy’s, two employees eventually caved under the pressure and admitted to smoking on the premises. Though the investigators got confessions from the two (alleged) clumsy idiots, they were unable to turn up any additional cannabis-related evidence at the restaurant.
Wendy’s HQ is taking the situation very seriously and issued a statement on the fluid investigation.
“Please know all of our customers as well as the quality and integrity of our food are a top priority at Wendy’s and we are taking this very seriously.”
Unfortunately for Wendy’s, it proves difficult to take them at their word on this matter when it’s happened before. Let’s just be thankful it was only weed in the food, because a recent Popeye’s patron had it far worse.
